Connect PHP in Debian Jessie to Ms Sql Server using FreeTDS

In this post we will connect Php code in Linux env (Debian 8 Jessie) to M$ Sql Server, using FreeTDS (latest vers.).

We start from a fresh installation of Debian 8 Jessie.

# apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
# apt-get install apache2
# apt-get install php5
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
# apt-get install dpkg-dev
# apt-get install devscripts

To check that php5 works fine

# php -v
PHP 5.6.13-0+deb8u1 (cli) (built: Sep 7 2015 13:38:37)
Copyright (c) 1997-2015 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.6.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2015 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.0.6-dev, Copyright (c) 1999-2015, by Zend Technologies

Volume Shadow Copies: Unable to restore from Shadow Copy due to long filename

PrevVersionIn a server Windows 2008/2012 can happen we have shadow copy enabled, and attempting to restore a file from shadow copy gave the following error.
“The source file name(s) are larger than is supported by the file system. Try moving to a location which has a shorter path name, or try renaming to shorter name(s) before attempting this operation.”

How to resurrect a Cisco ATA 186 with Asterisk

Cisco Ata186On ebay I found a very old Cisco ATA 186. Since the price was really cheap I thought to use it as ATA with Asterisk. Here are some notes on his configuration.

>> Reset Device
1) Take the phone off hook: the red button on the top of the ATA-186 will flashing.
2) Press the blinking red button on the ATA and dial 322873738#
3) Voice prompt will ask you to dial * to save changes you have just made: press * on your phone’s keypad.
4) Hang up the phone.
